Embark on a journey through Canada’s largest wine region to taste some of the region’s finest wines, local produce and culinary delights. Your tour will depart from your hotel and take you through the pristine country side of the Niagara region.
First, you will be warmly welcomed at a family-owned peach market and country store brimming with an array of local honey, specialty jams and preserves, fresh baked goods, homemade ice cream and other culinary delights. Enjoy stunning vistas of the historic Escarpment as you drive through private estates filled with sun-drenched rows of grapes.
Our second stop will be at Tawse Winery, voted Canada’s Winery of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2016. Situated on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, Tawse is a family-owned organic and biodynamic winery.
Our third stop, Meglomaniac, is perched high on the Niagara Escarpment, with incredible panoramic views of Lake Ontario and the skylines of Toronto and Niagara Falls. The winery itself is set into the hilltop where underlying limestone shale contribute in producing exceptional wines. Here you will sample their original, bold and audacious craft wines.
Our fourth stop is at Vineland Estates, a picturesque venue with a stunning backdrop of carefully restored historic buildings, vineyards and the Niagara Escarpment forest. The estate’s landmark stone tower stands proudly over structures that date back to the 1840s. Here you will get a guided tour of their facilities, wine making process, and sample a number of their classic wines. This is a great spot for lunch if you desire.
Our fifth stop, will be Redstone Winery where you enjoy an exclusive tour of one of the region’s most distinctive vineyard estates and the reason behind the “red stone” soil.
Finish the day with a final wine tasting at 13th Street Winery, home of the 2017 Grape King, as selected by the Grape Grower’s of Ontario. The Grape King carries the distinction of being chosen based on vineyard management and knowledge of the industry and serves as a representative for Ontario’s grape and wine industry at events across the country. Seasonal gourmet flatbreads, homemade soups, artisan cheeses, and other goodies are available to take home or enjoy during your visit.
